Fluff and Billy was first published in 2011 by Egmont UK. The idea came while I was still studying for an MA in Children’s Book Illustration and was drawing at the university nursery. Two children followed each other around announcing what they were doing in turn, one always copying the other! You can read more about the development process on my old blog. Towards the end of 2011 I received the exciting news that Julia Donaldson (author of The Gruffalo amongst many others) had picked Fluff and Billy as one of her books of the year in The Guardian newspaper! And that Christmas, the story was also read on CBeebies! Fluff and Billy was shortlisted for the Sheffield Baby Book Prize 2012.
