I’m a children’s book author and illustrator based in Cambridge, UK. I graduated from the MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art in 2009, and since then I’ve been working on picture books, board books and some pop-up books too!
Before embarking on the MA I worked in the greetings industry for several years and before that I worked at an accountancy firm. I was very lucky to sign my first book deal while I was still on the course, and won the Egmont Best New Talent Award for my graduation show.
I still love drawing as much as I did when I was little, when a sketchpad, a pack of felt tips and a Blue Peter Annual were always top of my Christmas list. Animals, ceramic figurines and people on trains are some of my favourite subjects!
Career highlights have included Julia Donaldson choosing ‘Fluff and Billy’ as one of her books of the year in the Guardian, and watching actor Damian Lewis read ‘I Got a Crocodile’ on Cbeebies Bedtime Stories.
I am represented by Emily Talbot at United Agents.
My publishers in the UK are Simon & Schuster, Andersen Press, Egmont and Bloomsbury.
